SEMINAR FOR TEACHERS

Our Department conducted a seminar on the topic “ Personality Development through Reading and Practices” for school teachers on 22^ndNovember, 2014.

UGC SPONSORED NATIONAL SEMINAR

Our department collaborated with St,Stephen's College, Uzhavoor to conduct a UGC sponsored National Seminar on “Masscommunication” at St. Stephens College, Uzhavoor from 12 to 13 November, 2014.

All students and Faculties from our department visited a tribal colony ‘Mannaar' (colony of special tribal group called ‘Mannaanmar’) at Kanjikkuzhy there with Scheduled Tribe promoters of Kerala Government and distributed good amount of provisions on1st November, 2014

SETTING UP OF LIBRARY

Our Department set up a library at Children's Home in Idukki District on 1st November, 2014.

VISIT TO CHILDREN'S HOME AT IDUKKI

St.Peter’s College Library and Dept. of Library and Information Science organized a visit to St.John’s Childrens Home, Mariapuram, at Idukki District on 1^st November, 2014.In the morning session we arranged a film show “Manjadikkuru”(children’s movie) for the children.

At noon our students prepared lunch there for all the members of childern’s home. In the afternoon session we interacted with children and provided a platform to perform their programs like dance, presentations, discussions etc…The output of the program brought about immense pleasure in the members of the children’s home. From their feedback we happened to know that our visit helped them to get an effective guidance and clearance on their educational queries. It was a wonderful opportunity for our team especially the students to get opened their mind towards the society to realize the importance of charity work.

TRAINING PROGRAM IN PUBLIC LIBRARY ERNAKULAM

Conducted one day training program for department students in Ernakulam Public Library on 24^th October, 2014.

POSTER DISPLAY ON UNITED NATION'S DAY

Conducted a poster display in association with College Library regarding UN Week celebration on 23/10/2014 in our college to make awareness about UN activities among college students
